This is hardly more than a politician's e-mail and url. --Superninja 05:49, 17 Aug 2004 (UTC)
- It's an awful article (I don't mean to be rude, but, well, it is). The NEC, I assume, is the UK Labour Party's National Executive Committee. Note, she's not elected by members of the public as a whole, but by members of the Labour Party, presumably on a constituency basis. I tried to look up how it works, but her website doesn't say much and the Labour Party website won't open at the moment. However, looking at [this BBC link], it suggests the NEC is quite small, so she would be a significant figure in the Labour Party, and hence keep. Average Earthman 08:37, 17 Aug 2004 (UTC)
- I've put some links and clarification on the page. Average Earthman 08:47, 17 Aug 2004 (UTC)
- At this point it looks like a perfectly OK stub. Keep.
- Keep the article, delete the VFD entry. anthony (see warning) 20:58, 23 Aug 2004 (UTC)

NEC democracy
[edit]The NEC is the Labour Party's National Executive Committee and they are charged with running the party. The members of the NEC are all elected by secret postal ballot of all Labour Party members and the candidates who score the most votes are deemed to be elected.—Preceding unsigned comment added by Marthants (talk • contribs)
The NEC is the Labour Party's National Executive Committee and they are charged with running the party. There are 32 members: the party leader, the deputy leader, three ministers appointed by the leader, the leader of the European Labour party, the party treasurer, three MPs/MEPs elected by MPs and MEPs, two local government representatives elected by Labour councillors, one representative elected by the socialist societies, 12 trade union representatives elected by trade union delegates at annual conference, one young Labour representative elected at the young Labour conference, and six constituency representatives elected by a one-member-one-vote ballot of the entire party membership. All elected members serve two-year terms.—Preceding unsigned comment added by 161.73.211.60 (talk • contribs)
