Not planning on making waves here, but if the wikipedia is using the Handbook of Birds of the world, shouldn't this section be the Indigo Macaw? For consistency? Oh, and I know I'm useless, which of the Bonapartes described this species?Sabine 04:30, 2 Nov 2004 (UTC)

According to the HBW website it's Lear's Macaw: http://www.hbw.com/ibc/phtml/familia.phtml?idFamilia=73

Lear's Macaw Page needs life!

[edit]

The article on this bird is quite interesting, indeed, but it lacks a single picture of the animal. Frankly, a written description does not suffice, in my opinion.

Re-rating

[edit]

Though the Lear's Macaw article is humbled in comparison to many of Wikipedia's bird articles, it has grown in size and detail lately, which I personally think constitutes a "re-rating" of sorts. After looking through many "start class" articles, this one seems to stand out among the crowd. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Anon44 (talkcontribs) 14:28, 23 February 2007 (UTC).[reply]

Endangered

[edit]

Lear's Macaw has been downgraded from Critically Endangered to Endangered. I tried to put this into the info box, but mangled the reference since I haven't used this format before. I'm hopeful someone else can fix it up.

Best to use the taxobox cite to show the IUCN ref and explain the downgrading in the text. Sabine's Sunbird talk 02:57, 10 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
