Non-notable martial arts inscructor. RickK 05:47, Sep 17, 2004 (UTC)
- Actually, if it is true that he is a personal student of Morihei Ueshiba, the founder of Aikido, then he is definitely notable in Japanese martial arts circles. I'll let others decide if that is notable enough for Wikipedia. Fire Star 06:13, 17 Sep 2004 (UTC)
- Is every student of Morihei Ueshiba notable? RickK 06:17, Sep 17, 2004 (UTC)
- Living students may be, there can't be that many left. Fire Star 06:29, 17 Sep 2004 (UTC)
- Re-reading my last comment I can see that in a morbid way it is pretty funny if taken out of context, my apologies...Fire Star 06:30, 17 Sep 2004 (UTC)
- If he's that influential, then certainly any student of his who then founded his own school would be notable. The article merits checking against some outside reference (all the external links are to sites directly associated with the school, I think), but it seems like an encyclopedic topic. Tentative keep. -FZ 13:40, 17 Sep 2004 (UTC)

- Keep: notable. Personal student of O Sensei, has his own school now. Wile E. Heresiarch 14:39, 17 Sep 2004 (UTC)
- Keep. Founder of a style of Aikido, if not the most popular one. — Gwalla | Talk 17:19, 17 Sep 2004 (UTC)

- Keep. While not the most important aikido teacher to write an article about, I do think a student of osensei who founded his own school could have one. Parts of the article could possibly be transferred to Tendoryu; or maybe most of it? as the style probably is interesting to more people than its founder. Habj 12:55, 21 Sep 2004 (UTC)
- Keep. He is known by reputation by large number of Aikido practitioners, although he's not as famous student of O Sensei as e.g. Koichi Tohei or Michio Hikitsuchi were. Habj: there are also (or has been in history) several other schools named Tendo ryu, most famous of which is propably the naginata ryu created by Saito Hangan Denkibo Katsuhide in 1582. I'd take that in account before editing Tendoryu. jni 10:59, 23 Sep 2004 (UTC)
- Keep. Although Tendoryu is surely not the most popular style, it is a well-known style, at least here in Germany. --zeno 08:55, 23 Sep 2004 (UTC)
- Keep. There are less well known instructors with entries (Paolo Corallini and Ulf Evenås). I think that there should be some agreed standard for inclusion on the list Aikido#Aikidoka. I recommend discussing this on Talk:Aikido before deleting any. Edwinstearns 15:33, 24 Sep 2004 (UTC)
