Bondar
[edit]I Think that Roberta Lynn Bondar is a Really cool person to do projects on because she is CANADIAN like ME and she was the first woman to go out to space NOT LIKE ME but hey THATS SOOO COOOLLL Just like me She is hardly the first woman in space. She was the first Canadian woman in space.
Why did someone remove her from the U of Guelph Alum category? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Priester (talk • contribs)
Why did someone erase what was there before?
I agree - there was much more information here before. I updated it myself (I was born in Sault Ste. Marie), and now it is all gone!! Perhaps the delete function should be restricted?
there's also an elementary school named after her in abbotsford, bc.and secondary school
Revert
[edit]I've reverted the page to the 10 February 2008 version. It looks like some vandalism went uncleaned and survived for a while. --Prewitt81 (talk) 03:51, 23 February 2008 (UTC)
Biography & citations
[edit]I have done some checking of facts, and editted and added citations accordingly. More citations are welcome, but I think the citation warning box can at least be removed. Gierszep (talk) 02:29, 18 April 2011 (UTC)
In looking for more information to add to this page, I came across a source in which the exact word-for-word description of Bondar's media experience was copied in the article. Additionally, there were no citations. The proper citation comes from the following: https://www.canadaswalkoffame.com/inductee/roberta-bondar. I am working on rewording the information in order to still provide the idea, along with the proper citation, without any plagiarism or closed paraphrasing. One reference needs to be updated
[edit]I noticed that the Reference #2 - Biography of Roberta Bondar needs to be updated, as the current link is no longer valid. The new link to the biography page of Dr. Bondar, from the Canadian Space Agency is http://www.asc-csa.gc.ca/eng/astronauts/biobondar.asp I made the change in the list of External Links, but was not able to do the same in the list of References. (I couldn't understand how to do the edit of "References" - if someone could do it, it would be appreciated. Thanks in advance. athenacgy (talk) 22:08, 17 March 2016 (UTC)

Bondar review
[edit]So I believe the article thus far is well written with appropriate ordering of sections. The information is easy to digest, not muddled with an excess of information, and does not appear to have any bias. I would say there needs to be more citations for certain sentences, as I'm not entirely certain which source some of the information comes from, along with perhaps a few more links to other pages if those pages exist. Minor nitpicks for an otherwise decent article. SEB2022 (talk) 02:53, 1 March 2020 (UTC)
Updates
[edit]I have done more research on Roberta Bondar and added information about her early life, education, and career as well as an external link. I also found many cases of plagiarism, so I found appropriate sources for those sentences and deleted the plagiarism and rewrote the information in a new way. Continued grammatical updates are in progress so that the article reads well and is well organized. Geboenke18 (talk) 18:58, 6 March 2020 (UTC)
Update
[edit]Hi all, I was assigned this article to review and edit as a class project. I added a bit more information but my job was mainly to fix grammar, formatting, organizational, and citation issues. I found quite a bit flat out copy-paste plagiarism in there so I went back in and correctly formatted and cited the information according to Wikipedia’s standards. I moved a few bits of information around to different sections so that the article would have a better flow. I added a few more readings under the ‘further reading’ header. I also added an ‘organizations’ header so I could make an organized chart of her memberships so random bits of information would not be scattered throughout the article. this page sounds like a sales pitch
[edit]As a child in the 90s, I did >3 projects about Roberta Bondar. I thought she was really cool and she inspired me.
Today I was watching a Star Trek and she popped into my head so I read the WP. Unfortunately the WP sounds like it is a pitch for her speaking career.
I hope Ms. Bondar is in receipt of CPP and any other supports which she would require. I hope the same for all people. I have read in the past that she was having a hard time making ends meet. Totally predictable as a woman who is apparently untethered aka liberated. This economic structure does not incentivize women to be liberated and independent.
All that said, this page does not seem balanced. There is not a single sentence which is not pure praise. 135.23.103.175 (talk) 03:50, 21 July 2023 (UTC)
