Hello!

[edit]

Hello and welcome to Wikipedia! =) Noticed that you've started an article on Chung Ling High School, Butterworth and cortributed to Chung Ling High School, but the latter is on Wikipedia:Votes for Deletion, I need your help to expand the article before it gets deleted. Thanks and regards, --Andylkl 20:00, 13 Dec 2004 (UTC)

  • Oh, neither am I studying in Chung Ling, Penang. I'm studying in Heng Ee High School, that's what makes contributing it a bit hard. Can't quite find information on the internet, so it need info from its alumni or current students. Never mind about VfD, it seems to be able to go through at the moment. But please do write about the Butterworth branch when you're free. Thanks and regards. =) --Andylkl 06:01, 17 Dec 2004 (UTC)
    • Yep I know the location of all of the Chung Ling schools, about what's inside it's a different matter. My parents had applied for the Butterworth branch (where you're studying!) when I was studying but my application got rejected. What's your AIM, ICQ, MSN or Y!IM screennames? Looking forward to chat with you. =) --Andylkl 06:43, 17 Dec 2004 (UTC)

May I ask why you have stuck a note about copyright and Chung Ling High School (with a big headline in capital letters, no less) on my user talk page? -- Jmabel | Talk 06:19, Dec 17, 2004 (UTC)

  • I've reverted it, Randy. We're looking for content that'll make it a better article. And I believe that the copyright problems has been addressed, so there's no need to make that statement. Thanks. =) --Andylkl 06:23, 17 Dec 2004 (UTC)
  • No, my talk page is not the place to discuss the matter. Either the article's own talk page or WP:CP is the place to discuss this sort of thing. The fact that I raised the flag doesn't mean my personal talk page becomes the place to discuss it. -- Jmabel | Talk 06:27, Dec 17, 2004 (UTC)

Hey, saw your message on my talk page. Yeah, I'm a geek (somewhat). How can I help you? Johnleemk | Talk 11:03, 20 Dec 2004 (UTC)

Well, first it would help if you told me what flavour/distribution of Linux (i.e. Mandrake, Red Hat, etc.). ;-) Some information about your computer hardware would be useful too. Johnleemk | Talk 11:53, 21 Dec 2004 (UTC)
Hm...I don't know enough to solve your problems. Sorry. :-( You can always try asking at http://linuxquestions.org though. They're pretty good. Johnleemk | Talk 16:56, 21 Dec 2004 (UTC)
Nope, I used Mandrake and now Slackware. I've never run into your problems before, so I don't know how to help. Sorry. :-( Johnleemk | Talk 17:35, 21 Dec 2004 (UTC)

License tagging for Image:Chunglingbw.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Chunglingbw.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 11:05, 8 July 2006 (UTC)

File permission problem with File:Chungling.mid

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Chungling.mid. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Stefan2 (talk) 19:47, 12 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

File source problem with File:Chunglingbw 1986.jpg

[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:Chunglingbw 1986.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the page from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of the website's terms of use of its content. If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. Please add this information by editing the image description page.

If the necessary information is not added within the next days, the image will be deleted. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Please refer to the image use policy to learn what images you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. Please also check any other files you have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Kelly hi! 14:29, 21 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Chung Ling Butterworth High School requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be a clear copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from http://chunglinghighschool.tripod.com/history/history.htm. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website or image but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Orphaned non-free image File:Chunglingbw.jpg

[edit]
⚠

Thanks for uploading File:Chunglingbw.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 02:28, 27 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
