Citations needed
[edit]Several sentences in this article are taken from the book "His Song" by Elizabeth Rosenthal. Somebody oughtta fix that.
- Yes, someone has plaigerized her book on several Elton John pages. I'll try to work on this page some, but will need help.Curt Franklin 07:02, 25 July 2007 (UTC)
- Speaking of citations needed, what is the source for this sentence: "Tumbleweed Connection was culled from the same stockpile of songs from which the prior album had sprung, and named after lyrics for which Elton never got around to writing music." I've never heard that there was a lyric by this title, and producer Gus Dudgeon stated in an interview that the lyrics for this album were not leftovers from the earlier project. If someone doesn't source this in the next couple of weeks, I'm going to remove it.Curt Franklin 07:05, 25 July 2007 (UTC)
Cover Photo - by Ian Digby Ovens
[edit]In the (end of the) liner notes: "Cover photograph by Ian Digby Ovens" - not David Larkham, as said in the "Cover Art" section. 2.53.153.132 (talk) 10:15, 24 July 2019 (UTC)
Come Down In Time
[edit]I heard Elton play this at a 1992 concert in Philadelphia (at the Spectrum). Not many people recognized it, it was a "bathroom break" song for many. For me it was a highlight of the show, as much for me as the concert standards such as Funeral For a Friend/Love Lies Bleeding and Philadelphia Freedom (which I'm sure he had to play, given that the concert was in Philadelphia). Just want to document somewhere that he had played in concert something from this album other than Burn Down the Mission --- a long time (20+ years) after the album's release. 2601:150:100:63A0:FDAE:9987:1039:F09A (talk) 06:51, 21 July 2024 (UTC)
