Place of birth
[edit]On Vinnie's wiki page it says on the right side he was born in Watford, but the main text says he was born in Plymouth - Can this utter farce be sorted out ASAP please? What is the point of having a wiki page which has such glaring errors. It makes an ass out of you and me. And Assumption. Or something. Please rectify. Cheers. -- Mokershipping (talk) 22:01, 10 January 2010 (UTC)moker
Batcave?
[edit]It is stated on the "Batcave (club)" page that Vinnie was once a regular at the Batcave, the world's first Goth bar... While this, in my opinion, makes the man seem even more amazing than he already is, I would like to know what are the sources of this? Is it worth even mentioning on his page? --NineInchNailed —Preceding undated comment added 06:51, 8 April 2009 (UTC).
Dronfield
[edit]Looks like someone removed the part about Vinnie living in Dronfield when he used to play for Sheffield United. Can we add it back in, he used to live just round the corner from me lol. 80.229.169.189 (talk) 23:06, 6 April 2009 (UTC)
Sensitive roles
[edit]Vinnie Jones' first "sensitive" - hard-man role is in Johnny Was I would like to formally dispute this and vote that someone rework this section of the article. His character in Lock Stock was a father who had a scene devoted to his deep emotions towards his son. --The reverend 03:39, 28 October 2006 (UTC)
Distracted?
[edit]in one notorious incident he distracted Paul Gascoigne by grabbing his testicles.
- Distracted? I'd say Gascoigne looks incredibly focussed.... quercus robur 18:29, 24 Dec 2003 (UTC)
- lol, does anyone know in which match this happened? --Mmartins 23:14, 13 August 2005 (UTC)
- If you check out the kits worn by each player then you could probable narrow down to the season it took place, use http://www.historicalkits.co.uk/index.htm for that. --Chappy84 18:56, 26 October 2006 (UTC)
Acting career chronology
[edit]Someone (who knows what they're doing) needs to add a chronology of the films/TV shows he's been in. 66.229.182.113 04:52, 15 June 2006 (UTC)
Height
[edit]I don't think that Vinnie Jones is only 6'1, he seemed pretty tall in X-Men: The Last Stand. Son of Kong
- They're called "special effects". — Preceding unsigned comment added by 205.169.30.2 (talk) 22:41, 20 October 2011 (UTC)
He has been credited fro 6`0-6`2. He was originally credited at 6`0, but slowly climbed up to 6`2. usually that is suspicous, however i do think that he is 6`2.
Honors and achivements
[edit]I think this needs to be added to the article. Govvy 17:22, 11 January 2007 (UTC)
i heard he wrote a book called "the Governor" can anyone confirm this of please tell me who did write "the governor" - Adam
"Wrote", "Book"? I think we can safely confirm this is false without any further research. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.156.192.40 (talk) 01:53, 4 November 2007 (UTC)
- There is a book called "The Guv'nor" by Lenny McLean and Peter Gerrard. Vinnie Jones and Lenny McLean were both in "Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels". I don't know if that has any pertinence. TinyMark 02:52, 4 November 2007 (UTC)
He HAS actually written an autobiography, though it is simply titled 'Vinnie Jones: The autobiography'. In addition to this Amazon also lists 'Vinnie: My Life' but I suspect that is just a later re-release of the same book. I'll add some details when I get a spare minute. Sweden (Norway?)
[edit]I watched a TV documentary about Vin Jones in which it covered an early period of his career playing for a Norwegian third-level club prior to Wimbledon. I can't remember the name of the club and have tried to research this. I know they famously played a top-level Norwegian club in their version of the FA Cup and were 2-0 down at half-time but came back to win 3-2. There are some great anecdotes by his then team-mates about V. Jones' 'motivational' speech at half-term (which sounded even better quoted in a thick Norwegian accent - "C'mon you b**tards! We can f**kin' do this!". It would be interesting to include that period of his career here. Luke-Samual Ezekiel Cullen 16:31, 7 June 2007 (UTC)
- You are probably confusing this with the then second-level Swedish club IFK Holmsund (outside Umeå). He played there one season in 1986 and helped them win the series. I'll add information about this...

Fastest red card
[edit]Vinnie Jones' article says that he "holds the record for the quickest sending off" (3 seconds). The cited source says it is the quickest "booking." It is my understanding that booking could be a yellow card and it doesn't mean that Jones was sent off. I was reading the news about a player David Pratt http://uk.reuters.com/article/topNews/idUKTRE4BS34Q20081229?feedType=RSS&feedName=topNews http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/7802865.stm Both articles mention David Pratt, who recently set a record for fastest red card (3 seconds). The articles went on and mention previous record-holders. No Vinnie Jones. I have no idea which one to believe. I have no knowledge in this. May be something need to be rephrased. May be someone who is more knowledgeable could do something about the article. Elsonlam1 (talk) 00:26, 31 December 2008 (UTC)
- I am going to edit the article. I just notice that the 4th reference (to the crotch-grabbing incident) says that Jones is holding the record for quickest yellow card. That plus the 2 links I listed earlier.Elsonlam1 (talk) 08:00, 8 January 2009 (UTC)
School
[edit]Vinnie went to Langleybury School in Hunton Bridge for several years. It's in his biography, and I also know because I went there too. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Pgb62uk (talk • contribs) 17:30, 6 October 2012 (UTC)
BLP please!
[edit]Could editors please be mindful of WP:BLP when editing here? Anything even slightly negative must be sourced very securely and not to tabloids (for example). --John (talk) 11:25, 9 September 2012 (UTC)
Mitsubishi
[edit]I first met Vince when he worked at Mitsubishi in Watford as a warehouseman and I was a lorry driver and he used to help me load up TVs, Videos and other electrical goods. He was not the person he portrays in public life today or the image that people have of him. I found him to be a well mannered funny guy,who liked a beer and a joke. Behind the warehouse there was a leisure centre called Hartspring and during lunch breaks we used to go and play 5 x side with some of the other guys from the warehouse, he could play a bit but was always running up his own backside and lost the ball more times than I cared to remember. At that time I was managing a local Sunday side and was on the lookout for players and asked him if he would like to come a play for us, he said no because he was playing for the International University Of America and they paid him for cutting the grass. After about 2-3 months he came to me and asked if I still wanted him to play for me , I turned him down because I had already signed a better midfield player and he had a habit of getting himself booked and eventually banned. Their was a guy called Steve McCargo that played for the University as well and he played for Wealdstone on a Saturday and persuaded Vince to go along for a trial-the rest as they say is history. I have met Vince a few times over the years and he has always stopped and spoken to me. He took an awful lot of stick over the years from the media and hacks in the newspapers but he lived the dream of so many Saturday/Sunday park football lads. He was never blessed with a great football ability but he made the most of what he had. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.131.242.121 (talk) 13:46, 20 November 2013 (UTC)
chat show & Satellite award
[edit]Not yet in the article is that Jones had his own chat show, and that he won a Satellite award. The latter was not a Satellite Award but an award given out by the magazine Satellite TV Europe (that became Satellite TV Monthly, that merged with What Satellite to become What Satellite and Digital TV). The award probably was "Personality of the Year". Possibly in 1997. According to Jones, in episode 208 of Kevin Pollak's Chat Show, the award was for a chat show that he (co-)hosted for two series. (I guess he meant seasons.) No idea what the name of that show was, and it seems weird that an award for a show would include 'personality'. --82.136.210.153 (talk) 00:58, 8 October 2014 (UTC)
Hollywood United F.C. & All-Stars Football Club
[edit]Not yet in the article is that Jones was involved with Hollywood United F.C. (played for) and Hollywood All Stars Football Club (H.A.S.F.C) (founded; info here; not All Stars F.C.). Source is episode 208 of Kevin Pollak's Chat Show, starting 1:32:00. --82.136.210.153 (talk) 01:34, 8 October 2014 (UTC)
About playing for First Division and Second Division
[edit]In the part where his football record is given I think there needs to be some kind of explanation included about the difference between First Division before and after 1992. I'm an American so I'm not sure if what I think I know on the subject is correct, but wasn't First Division the top level in football before 1992 and then with the creation of the Premier League wasn't it demoted to the next highest level? So doesn't this mean that First Division in 1988 is not the same thing as it was in 1998?? Shouldn't that distinction be made clear to the reader??? A Poor Befuddled American. __209.179.0.121 (talk) 05:33, 6 November 2015 (UTC)
Link to testicles?
[edit]In the phrase " grabbing Paul Gascoigne by his testicles during a league game" the word testicles is linked to the eponymous article. Is there a reason for this? I imagine any normal person would know what a testicle is, especially given the context. This smells of either pedantic link generation (in which case we should also have links for elbow, knee etc.) or an attempt at humour by emphasising a "rude" word. I leave it up to the Wiki Stylistas to adjudicate 188.141.34.129 (talk) 16:58, 11 February 2017 (UTC) Greg
Fan of Tottenham
[edit]Vinnie is supportive of all his ex clubs.
But it was stated on Big Brother that he is a Leeds United fan. TheHamburger (talk) 16:31, 6 November 2019 (UTC)

I don't see why Jones' page uses the infobox for "Persons" rather than Footballer. I'd suggest changing it to this, which would suit the style of other footballers but lose information regarding spouse and children.
