Talk
[edit]Describe the new page here. This is not a new page yet. It is a request for geological info on the Madeira River course. Does anybody have this or know of a reference to get the info?
Many thanx for any help. I will be glad to write a page on geology and gold mining if I can find the info. We have land in French Guiana and the structure of the course of the Madeira may end up in FG. I would be much obliged for any info on the Madeira if you have it,

This article mentions "falls" several times as if they are referenced earlier without actually saying anything about them. Aapold 15:10, 12 June 2007 (UTC)
Where do you get the length of 2,100 miles? You clearly state that the Madeira flows from the confluence of the Madre de Dios and Mamore rivers. If you actually measure the distance (carefully tracing the river) from confluence to mouth on most any map you will find a distance of around 891 miles. That's quite a difference!

Incorrect location of rapids
[edit]The location of falls Teotônio and San Antonio looks incorrect in the article:
The falls of Teotônio and of San Antonio exceed the more famous Boyoma Falls in Africa by volume and total drop. From these rapids, the Madeira flows northward forming the border between Bolivia and Brazil for approximately 100 km (62 mi).
See Google maps for example, search Teotônio . These rapids are located in the lower stream of the river, below its border section with Bolivia. Beaber (talk) 02:15, 3 August 2015 (UTC)
