Image Copyright problem
Image Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading Image:Kolomenskoe_old_palace.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 01:18, 19 November 2008 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Calliopejen1 (talk) 01:18, 19 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a search with the contents of Sergei Anatolyevich Starostin, and it appears to be very similar to another Wikipedia page: Sergei Starostin. It is possible that you have accidentally duplicated contents, or made an error while creating the page— you might want to look at the pages and see if that is the case. If you are intentionally trying to rename an article, please see Help:Moving a page for instructions on how to do this without copying and pasting. If you are trying to move or copy content from one article to a different one, please see Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia and be sure you have acknowledged the duplication of material in an edit summary to preserve attribution history.

It is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. CorenSearchBot (talk) 18:04, 5 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Copy-and-paste page moves

[edit]

Hello, Arseni. Concerning your contribution, Sergei Anatolyevich Starostin, a page move cannot be done by simply copying and pasting the contents of a page into a new location, as such a process does not transfer the page's edit history and therefore violates the GNU Free Documentation License (GFDL)by denying attribution to editors who worked on Sergei Starostin. This article or image appears to be a direct copy from Sergei Starostin. As a violation of the page move process, Sergei Anatolyevich Starostin needs to be temporarily deleted under the speedy deletion criteria so that Sergei Starostin may be properly moved in a way that will preserve its edit history. Sergei Anatolyevich Starostin has been tagged for deletion, and may have been deleted by the time you see this message. If not, please refrain from editing either Sergei Starostin or Sergei Anatolyevich Starostin until the latter has been deleted according to Wikipedia's speedy criterion G6 (non-controversial housekeeping).

If you did not intend to make a page move, then please insert the {{hangon}} tag right below the {{db-copypaste}} tag in Sergei Anatolyevich Starostin and state your intentions on Talk:Sergei Anatolyevich Starostin. An administrator will look at your reasoning before deciding what to do. Thank you for your contributions. Incnis Mrsi (talk) 19:47, 8 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Kola Peninsula

[edit]

Hi, Arseny! I have just finished expanding the Kola Peninsula article and nominated it for GA. Since you are the article's original author, would you be interested in reviewing/correcting/copyediting and possibly expanding it? Or, if after reading it, you have any comments or suggestions, I'd be delighted to hear them as well. If not, that's fine, too. Cheers,—Ëzhiki (Igels Hérissonovich Ïzhakoff-Amursky) • (yo?); January 14, 2011; 18:51 (UTC)

Starostin

[edit]

Nothing silly about this question. Move requests usually sit for at least seven days before being closed. After seven days, a notification will pop up in an appropriate queue and some admin will close the request (I can't close it myself because I !voted). You don't need to do anything, just wait; it'll be taken care of in a few days. Cheers,—Ëzhiki (Igels Hérissonovich Ïzhakoff-Amursky) • (yo?); January 18, 2011; 18:01 (UTC)

Autopatrolled

[edit]

Hello, this is just to let you know that I have granted you the "autopatrolled" permission. This won't affect your editing, it just automatically marks any page you create as patrolled, benefiting new page patrollers. Please remember:

  • This permission does not give you any special status or authority
  • Submission of inappropriate material may lead to its removal
  • You may wish to display the {{Autopatrolled}} top icon and/or the {{User wikipedia/autopatrolled}} userbox on your user page
  • If, for any reason, you decide you do not want the permission, let me know and I can remove it
If you have any questions about the permission, don't hesitate to ask. Otherwise, happy editing!HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 05:17, 28 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for your permission! The only problem is that I have just migrated to new account User:khakhalin, as this account is not global, and can't made be global (there are other people with this name in other wikipedias), so I could not use Wikimedia Commons with it, etc. And it was already impossible to merge the account, as I've created this new User:khakhalin account for Wikimedia. A complicated story. But in any case, I won't edit under this account anymore. If you can grant your permission to User:khakhalin - it would be great. If it is not possible, OK, I guess, sooner or later it would happen again, and new page patrollers would benefit =) Thank you once again! Arseni (talk) 16:03, 28 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

File source problem with File:Kolomenskoe derevo.jpg

[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:Kolomenskoe derevo.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of that website's terms of use of its content. However, if the copyright holder is a party unaffiliated from the website's publisher, that copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider verifying that you have specified sources for those files as well. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged per Wikipedia's criteria for speedy deletion, F4. If the image is copyrighted and non-free, the image will be deleted 48 hours after 02:30, 27 February 2011 (UTC) per speedy deletion criterion F7. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Musamies (talk) 02:30, 27 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

    • Hi! This file should have been deleted 2 years ago already. It is my file, but there's no point in saving it from deletion, as the resolution is extremely low, and a lot of much better files appeared in the Wikimedia since then. Thank you for noticing that the thing is not deleted so far! Khakhalin (talk) 12:05, 28 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

File permission problem with File:Karelija Pegrema.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Karelija Pegrema.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. —Bkell (talk) 18:18, 30 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Confluent requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. — Diannaa (talk) 21:02, 28 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]
