Welcome to Acaides' user page. I became a Wikipedian on 19 November, 2004. I graduated from Purdue University in May 2007 with a degree in Computer Engineering.
Please leave any comments on my talk page. Any posts made to this user page will be reverted and a copy placed on my talk page. If necessary, I will respond to your comment(s) on your talk page.
The best, and definitely fastest, way to contact me is on AOL Instant Messenger. My username there is also Acaides. I am usually logged on 24/7. If I'm not available, I will usually have an informative away message.
Major project
[edit]I was involved in developing articles about and related to Colleges and Universities as a part of Wikipedia:WikiProject Universities. I was particularly active in the development of the Purdue University article.
The project, started on 10 August, 2003, the project is attempting to formulate a standard template for College and University articles on Wikipedia. The ultimate goal is to bring all articles on the subject into compliance with a single standard in order to give Wikipedia a more professional look, make cross-referencing easier, expand content of edu-stub articles, and ultimately make Wikipedia a more useful and powerful resource.
Interests
[edit]Hmm. I thought I would include a list of my interests, as it seems to be the thing to do, so here goes:
- electronics, computers, etc.
- open source software / free software, and the free software movement in general.
- the Apple Macintosh platform and associated craziness.
- Star Trek
- Philosophy
- Politics
- Music. Specifically Bluegrass music, Symphony, and Ben Folds
Articles Originated
[edit]These are the articles on Wikipedia that I have started. I monitor all of these pages in my watch list, and update or expand them as necessary.
- Zero crossing threshold detector (19 November, 2004)
- Threshold detector with hysteresis (20 November, 2004)
- Martin C. Jischke (21 December, 2004)
Future Projects
[edit]There are some articles that I'd like to work on in the future if I get a chance. They are, in no particular order:
