Article per episode
[edit]Would anybody object to creating an article per episode so that they can be covered in depth better, like guest stars, written and directed by, etc. This would be similar to The Simpsons. An example article from The Simpsons is Simpsons Roasting on an Open Fire. Gorrister 12:00, 17 Jun 2005 (UTC)
- No and neither would Jimbo. See also List of Star Trek: TNG episodes. Cburnett 20:37, Jun 17, 2005 (UTC)
- OK, I've added the first article for an episode - M*A*S*H the Pilot (M*A*S*H episode). What do you think. I've added a navigation template and an infobox template to go along with it. Gorrister 18:57, 20 Jun 2005 (UTC)
- Good start. I suggest using "(M*A*S*H episode)" on each link and article to make life easier (assuming that the bulk of episodes won't immediately have articles). This is what I do for Star Trek episodes since most don't exist. My thought is that once they are all created, then the "(M*A*S*H episode)" can be removed since there won't be any ambiguity problems such as what will happen to episode 108 entitled "Cowboy". M*A*S*Hisms
[edit]I would like to add a section to each episode that lists what I call MASHisms - oddball references, usually by Hawkeye, that when it is said my wife and I look at each other as ask who/what did that mean. A good example is from the pilot when Hawkeye is talking to Margaret while dancing with Dish he says, "Why don't you stop dating Elmer Gantry". I didn't know who or what Elmer Gantry was until I looked it up here. What does everybody think? Gorrister 12:05, 20 Jun 2005 (UTC)
- I think that's something that belongs on the individual episode article, and not on this article. Since MASH has 11 seasons, you would end up making the article incredibly long if you put it in with the overview on this article. Perhaps a separate article List of M*A*S*Hisms that could be linked in a See also section of each episode article. Cburnett 07:13, Jun 21, 2005 (UTC)
- I've written the article on the first two episodes. I added a M*A*S*Hisms section to the first one, but the second didn't really have any. Gorrister 10:10, 21 Jun 2005 (UTC)
Summary
[edit]There are still empty summary sections in season 4, 7, 9, 10, and 11. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.72.113.72 (talk • contribs) 02:15, 9 July 2005
Footnotes
[edit]Shouldn't the notes section be split up and put in the relevant places? I noticed that note 1 refers to an episode in Season 1, but haven't yet tracked down the others. --80.177.2.167 23:30, 21 April 2006 (UTC)
Episode notability
[edit]I've noticed that, with the exception of the excellent "Abyssinia, Henry", all the existing individual episode pages for MASH fail notability guidelines, including the notability guidelines for television episodes, and have been tagged accordingly. Might I suggest these articles are improved with real-world information (ie. referencing with reliable sources) to assert notability, removing trivia (seeWP:TRIVIA) quotes, overly long plot summaries (a breach of copyright) or consider merging the information onto the season page. Otherwise, when these pages come up for review in fourteen days, they may be redirected, merged or deleted. If you want any help or info, then come to Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Television/Episode coverage. I have also excluded Goodbye, Farewell and Amen from the review process as it seems to have good sources, but I encourage you to work on it as another editor may choose to tag it if there seems no move towards meeting guidelines. Thanks, Gwinva 19:38, 20 June 2007 (UTC)

Duplicate Episode Information
[edit]Is there some reason the episodes are listed here as well as on the season-by-season pages such as List_of_M*A*S*H_episodes_(season_1)? It seems like it would be more appropriate to have links to those articles instead, especially so we can avoid errors that have been fixed on one page but not on this one such as crediting the wrong writers on "The Trial of Henry Blake." Wrong Airdate for Season 11 Episode?
[edit]The airdate for a season 11 M*A*S*H episode titled "Bombshells" is listed as November 28, 1982. In 1982, November 28 was a Sunday, and November 29 was a Monday. M*A*S*H was still airing on Mondays during that time. Did CBS give that M*A*S*H episode a special Sunday airing, or was that just a mistake on the part of the editor who originally compiled this info? Jim856796 (talk) 20:06, 26 February 2020 (UTC)
