Greetings! I'm going to take a not-quite-wild guess that this is RobertG with a static or at least seldom-changing IP, and write accordingly. I'm sorry to see you go. FWIW, I disagreed with the message Gmaxwell left you, but I don't really have any influence over what he does on the wiki. Difficult to live with someone who also edits, and to determine how much to get involved in what they do; I try to avoid it with him. It's not my place to apologize for him, either, but I do apologize for not stepping in and voicing my disagreement. I'm glad the sentence in question is now at an acceptable compromise: I do hope I got what you were going for as well as what I wanted to say. It's encyclopedic to mention what she didn't do if that absence is noteworthy: someone never driving a Porsche, big deal, someone never owning shoes, that's news.
I do hope you decide to return; in spite of the occasional pond scum, I do think this is one of the pools still and was better for your presence. Mindspillage (spill yours?) 17:09, 16 May 2005 (UTC)
- "Elementary, my dear Watson!" It's typical of you that you take this trouble. Your message confirms exactly what I already thought, by the way; and although Gmaxwell's intervention did result in some inner turmoil, there really aren't any hard feelings. It crystallised my conclusion that contributing to Wikipedia is less fulfilling than other things I do. That may change, who knows? Congratulations on your recent graduation, and I wish you all the best in your search for an academic career. --217.155.223.43 11:53, 17 May 2005 (UTC)
