River Valley Ranch was proposed for deletion. This page is an archive of the discussion about the proposed deletion. This page is no longer live. Further comments should be made on the article's talk page rather than here so that this page is preserved as an historic record. The result of the debate was to keep the article.
The page is just really an advertisement for the ranch, and perhaps just cut and pasted off their website. --Hn 06:15, 13 Nov 2004 (UTC)
- Comment: It is from their website, so I turned it into a copyvio. Let 'em deal with that first. Wyllium 06:29, 2004 Nov 13 (UTC)
- Followup: creator claims to have copyright. I added this to the copyvio page, but even if the copyright is solved, it still doesn't belong here. Wyllium 06:59, 2004 Nov 13 (UTC)
- Followup: part of it could be an advertisement, but it is mainly a history of the ranch. is that wrong?
- It would be wrong if the ranch isn't notable enough to be in an encylopedia. If it were a very famous or historically important building, it would merit it's own article, but it doesn't seem to be. Wyllium 07:06, 2004 Nov 13 (UTC)
- Comment: It is important to note that the page solicits for donations, and provides a PayPal-type link for that purpose. That is definitely not cool. Plus, the page pushes a personal, Christianity-based agenda. Hn 08:47, 13 Nov 2004 (UTC)

- Delete: Advertising is not allowed. Geogre 15:36, 13 Nov 2004 (UTC)
Delete. No advertising. Subject of article is a 'youth camping ministry'--IE a campsite for children, something I don't think we generally document. Niteowlneils 17:46, 13 Nov 2004 (UTC)
- Weak keep. A little leary of this being seen as opening the door to every Boy Scout and Girl Scout camp in the world, but it does get almost 6000 hits, and new article is much better. Niteowlneils 18:42, 16 Nov 2004 (UTC)
- Keep, at least for now, lets see what happens to it. Mainly because I spent some time earlier today NPOV-rewriting it. I can't see a compelling reason to delete it. (Wikipedia isn't paper, yada yada) Everyone who already voted, please take another look, since not a lot of the original article remains. — David Remahl 10:19, 15 Nov 2004 (UTC)
- Keep. Excellent NPOVish rewrite. [[User:GRider|GRider\talk]] 00:37, 18 Nov 2004 (UTC)
