Can you please explain what the random character set at First Session was all about? RickK 08:32, Mar 19, 2005 (UTC)

And now you, or someone editing your User page, has created something called First Week. What are you planning on doing here? Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, not a place to host your personal projects. RickK 08:45, Mar 19, 2005 (UTC)

Please stop creating these articles. They might be more appropriate at Wikibooks. RickK 10:24, Mar 19, 2005 (UTC)

Linux Lessons

[edit]

Hello fellow Linux-user! I think your articles like Lesson 1, Lesson 2 etc. would be more appropriate at Wikibooks. If you don't transwiki them, they would most probably be deleted as non-encyclopedic. utcursch | talk 11:08, Mar 19, 2005 (UTC)

First Week

[edit]

I have deleted this page. As others have remarked, it looks like you're planning a great project, but it might not fit with wikipedia as you have planned it. Either investigate the various Linuxy articles and improve them, or look to wikibooks or similar. Rich Farmbrough 11:42, 19 Mar 2005 (UTC)

Are you ever going to talk to us? Several people have repeatedly told you that this information is not Wikipedia material. If you do not acknowledge our concerns, and at least address them, you will be blocked from editing. RickK 05:30, Mar 20, 2005 (UTC)

Welcome!

Hello, Herat.cs-linux, Welcome to Wikipedia!
I hope you like working here and want to continue. If you need help on how to name new articles, look at Naming Conventions, and for help on formatting the pages visit the Manual of Style. If you need general help, look at Help and the FAQ, and if you can't find your answer there, check the Village pump (for Wikipedia related questions) or the Reference Desk (for general questions). There's still more help at the Tutorial and the Policy Library. Also, don't forget to visit the Community Portal — and if you have any more questions after that, feel free to post them on my talk page.
Additional tips:
Here are some extra tips to help you get around Wikipedia:
  • If you made any edits before you got an account, you might be interested in assigning those to your username.
  • If you want to play around with your new Wiki skills, try the Sandbox.
  • Click on the Edit button on a page, and look at how other editors did what they did.
  • You can sign your name using three tildes, like this: ~~~. If you use four, you can add a datestamp too. Always sign comments on Talk pages, never sign Articles.
  • You might want to add yourself to the New User Log.
  • If your first language isn't English, try Wikipedia:Contributing to articles outside your native language.
Happy editing!
