Deletion discussion
[edit]from VfD:
not notable stublet on junior sports team Pedant 00:54, 2004 Dec 5 (UTC) I stand corrected, evidently I completely misunderstood what this team was. As this seems to be consensus I'm going to remove the delete tag. Pedant 19:59, 2004 Dec 6 (UTC)
- You may be misunderstanding the use of the word "junior" here - the QMJHL is one the leagues of the Canadian Hockey League, which is one of the most important hockey leagues in the world. So, keep, but expand of course. Adam Bishop 00:57, 5 Dec 2004 (UTC)
- QMJHL is rather more important that A and AA level pro hockey teams. The vast portion of new NHL players each year come out of the Canadian Hockey League, and mostly from the OHL and QMJHL. Juniors move from home to join these teams, and travel vast distances to compete (across a quarter of the continent) in games versus other teams. A and AA ice hockey leagues are *smaller* than the CHL leagues and *less competitive*, and *less popular*. AAA is only slightly better than these leagues. The US equivalent to a CHL league team would be Division 1 NCAA ice hockey, except it's not, because NCAA hockey sucks in comparison, CIAU hockey is better than NCAA hockey, and CIAU hockey sucks because players are either in CHL or have joined the NHL and don't go to university. 132.205.64.202 06:02, 5 Dec 2004 (UTC)

- Keep! Every OHL team has a page, yet no QMJHL team has one! Earl Andrew 02:09, 6 Dec 2004 (UTC)
- Hate to break it to ya...not many of the Western Hockey League teams have a page yet, either. Bearcat 06:33, 7 Dec 2004 (UTC)
- Keep. With the imminent loss of the St. John's Maple Leafs (moving to Toronto), this will become arguably the most notable sports team in Atlantic Canada. Samaritan 05:24, 6 Dec 2004 (UTC)
- Duh, keep. —[[User:Radman1|RaD Man (talk)]] 08:53, 6 Dec 2004 (UTC)

Attendance
[edit]To whichever IP address contributor keeps adding the line about "Halifax has led the QMJHL in attendance every year they've been in the league" - Please stop. It's not true. See [1] BoojiBoy 16:54, 27 May 2006 (UTC)
- It was probably Bobby Smith who said Halifax gets the best attendace every year. In his own little world we do...... —Preceding unsigned comment added by 142.68.197.16 (talk • contribs)
- Halifax did use to, up until around 3 years ago, when Quebec made much improvements with theirs. The statement is no longer true. Sportyguy03 (talk) 02:25, 15 November 2008 (UTC)
