Pirkei De-Rabbi Eliezer
I am reaching out to seek your assistance regarding Pirkei De-Rabbi Eliezer. A while ago, a template was placed listing items that needed correction. These issues have since been addressed. However, as I am relatively new here, I do not feel comfortable removing the template on my own authority. I would greatly appreciate your help in reviewing the corrections and removing the template if everything is in order. Thank you very much for your time and assistance. טל ומטר (talk) 07:02, 26 June 2024 (UTC)

I liked your article on Arutz Sheva. Yes, I still exist, although I haven't been as active on Wikipedia as I was 20 years ago... But I think I'm making a comeback... רח"ק | Talk | Contribs 10:56, 15 July 2024 (UTC)

The article History of the Jews in Cambodia has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Just because some Jews have lived in Cambodia does not make this a notable community
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
Also:
This bot DID NOT nominate any of your contributions for deletion; please refer to the history of each individual page for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 10:00, 13 October 2024 (UTC)

Jewish populations in nations
Hello, IZAK,
I saw your comment in Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/History of the Jews in Cambodia about having spent time working on articles about Jewish populations in different countries. I thought I'd let you know that the following articles were PROD'd this week and I de-PROD'd them:
- History of the Jews in Qatar
- History of the Jews in Laos
- History of the Jews in Eswatini
- History of the Jews in Lesotho
- History of the Jews in Benin
So, you might want to look over these articles since the editor who PROD'd them is likely to send them to AFD. Thanks for your contributions on the project. Liz Read! Talk! 23:51, 20 October 2024 (UTC)
- @Liz: Thank you so much for this notification and for your wise actions. It has been a long and arduous road to build up articles about the "History of the Jews in ____" on WP but they are all parts of a much greater whole as can be seen in Category:Jewish history by country. Now for someone not sensitive to the goals of the over-all project of building up a comprehensive history of the Jews in all countries on WP to start dismantling the articles bit by bit, we will be left with nothing in the end because there are only long histories of Jews that have historical records in relatively few countries. Please contribute to the AfD discussion at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/History of the Jews in Cambodia and cast your vote and make your voice heard, as a lot of the WP Judaic editors, see Wikipedia:WikiProject Judaism/Members and Wikipedia:WikiProject Jewish history/Members, have put in a lot of work into these type of articles over the last twenty+ years on WP but have since retired and cannot defend their work so it is up to me as a "lone ranger" survivor on WP and I cannot cope with such a large load of editorial and defensive work. I am only one man, so your help would be invaluable. Thanks so much for your understanding. Best wishes, IZAK (talk) 04:55, 21 October 2024 (UTC)
- I'll consider your request but if I participate in a discussion, I can't close it and I think my expertise lies more in determining consensus than making arguments in support of Keep or Deletion. But, again, I'll review that AFD. Liz Read! Talk! 03:00, 22 October 2024 (UTC)

History of the Jews in [Country]
Hi IZAK, I saw that you requested the move of Jews in Madagascar to History of the Jews in Madagascar. I explained on Jfdwolff's Talk page why I reverted, and you can read the previous move discussion that followed the last undiscussed move to that title earlier this year on the article's Talk. Generally, I would caution against mass-moving all Jews in [Country] articles to History of the Jews in [Country], because a lot of articles pertain to very contemporary communities, "the Jews in X" implies that it's about one group called the Jews and what some of them got up to in this country, while many sources on these communities refer to, for instance, Moroccan Jews rather than the Jews in Morocco. ꧁Zanahary꧂ 16:30, 31 October 2024 (UTC)
- Hi IZAK, I appreciate that you feel differently about this than I do, but I feel the tenor of your responses—accusing me of
making up a new set of "criteria"
to move the articlebased on all sorts of unfounded and fanciful reasons such as "concisenes" [sic] and "Jews as foreigners"
, is needlessly personal and uncivil. To be clear: you moved a page against prior consensus, got reverted as is standard procedure per WP:RMUM, and then started personally attacking the editor who reverted your undiscussed consensus-ignoring move. Please stop writing angrily about my fancifulness and baseless usurpation of twenty years of tradition, and I would appreciate it if you struck the irrelevant personal comments about me in your move request. ꧁Zanahary꧂ 22:37, 31 October 2024 (UTC)- @Zanahary: Thank you for contacting me. I was expressing opposition to your own personal WP:POV that runs against a clear WP:CONSENSUS of hundreds of editors over two decades on WP who have stuck to naming articles about the Jewish history of countries and cities etc as "History of the Jews in ___" and NOT as you would like to have it "Jews in ___". Your so-called "consensus" is virtually non-existent because you took advantage of a limited number of articles (3 it seems) and had one or two editors agree with you that over-ran what has been the accepted norm for over 20 years on WP. I am truly alarmed and my fear is that you will use your own precedents to overthrow the existing order of all the articles on WP titled as "History of the Jews in ____" and change them to your POV outlook. For the sake of focusing this discussion let's keep it centralized at Wikipedia:Requested moves/Technical requests#Contested technical requests. Thank you, IZAK (talk) 02:42, 1 November 2024 (UTC)
- I’m not going to put comments about your conduct at the requested move discussion; they belong here and would be derailing over there. Accusing me of taking advantage (of what?) in an effort to push my POV across all of Wikipedia, apparently because I initiated discussions arguing for a revert of three undiscussed moves many months ago, is really way beyond reasonable. That I may have a minority view is not evidence of bad faith. Again, to recap: you ignored prior discussion and consensus to perform an undiscussed move, got reverted, and you are now accusing me of “alarming” POV-pushing and manipulation. Kindly stop casting aspersions, and again I ask that you strike the irrelevant attacks from your post at the move discussion. And in the future, please do not ignore prior discussions and consensus (if you don’t like the consensus ruling, that is neither my fault, as I didn’t close or enact the move, nor an excuse to ignore it) to perform undiscussed moves. ꧁Zanahary꧂ 02:52, 1 November 2024 (UTC)
- @Zanahary: I have apologized at the discussion page for what may seem to you as my over-zealousness responding to your WP:POV. Honestly I was not aware that you had blocked the 3 articles from being WP:MOVED as I did not look at the talk pages of those articles. I was going under the standard working assumption of over 20 years of editing "History of the Jews in ___" articles when I have many times moved articles titled "Jews in ____" to the correct form of "History of the Jews in ____" and have never had any problems until I ran into your WP:OWN attitudes for Jews in Madagascar, Jews in Taiwan, Jews in Hong Kong and experienced your unbending hold on the titles of these articles that got me thinking whether you would stop with these 3 and that you maybe had plans for the whole series of hundreds of articles titled "History of the Jews in ____" such as in Category:Jewish history by country etc. Again, please pardon any misunderstanding. I do not see the need to strike anything as it's all relevant to this discussion. IZAK (talk) 03:10, 1 November 2024 (UTC)
