Park

[edit]

A park in Tacoma, Washington may be named after Herbert: http://www.thenewstribune.com/2013/06/19/2645714/frank-herbert-makes-sense-for.html --Gwern (contribs) 16:27 24 June 2013 (GMT)

Relationship with Bruce & Views on Homosexuality

[edit]

Has there been any discussion about adding information concerning Herbert’s poor relationship with his gay son, Bruce, his personal views on homosexuality, and how it may have influenced his depiction of Baron Harkonnen (potentially - I think this last bit may be better suited for only the Dune page, or at most as a brief parenthetical here)? I ask because I don’t want to make changes if there’s been previous discussion I should be aware of, and I’d love to hear thoughts on how and where it’d be best to add this information. Thanks! Hi, please see my comments at Talk:Dune_(novel)#Baron_Harkonnen’s_Homosexuality. You'll need reliable sources that specifically make that connection. I'd be happy to help you develop any content on this subject for inclusion here or in Dune-related articles like Vladimir Harkonnen.— TAnthonyTalk 19:16, 16 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Convert to Buddhism?

[edit]

Is this actually true? It sounds like he was interested in Buddhism but not a convert.[1] I'm removing the categories, if I'm wrong please tell me. Prezbo (talk) 16:15, 26 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Article photo

[edit]

Could we get a better photo of Herbert? By "better" I mean one that captures his whole face and is less grainy. https://www.historylink.org/File/21248 J E F-T (talk) 18:40, 31 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

POV in Ideas and Themes section

[edit]

Tone and content here reads like a personal essay on the topic rather than summary of known analysis. At the minimum, this section needs more, and more diverse citation. 2600:8801:1401:3000:7D91:766C:5E2D:B8B3 (talk) 17:58, 21 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

incomplete

[edit]

While I love the Dune books, Herbert did write other things. Where's a resume of his publications? 100.15.117.34 (talk) 12:21, 23 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Frank Herbert bibliography. It can be found under the Bibliography section. --Kansas Bear (talk) 13:03, 23 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
