Coin

[edit]

Hi Interstellarpoliceman, I saw your message on the Coin noticeboard, regarding being editor at Q21. If you know the individual people that you are writing on, then I suggest you have a WP:COI. Are you being paid to write about them? scope_creep (talk) 14:39, 9 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I'm volunteering at Q21, so I'm not actually being paid. I hope that's OK, but I understand that this might look suspicious. And no, I don't know Sophia Cacciola personally. I hope this all can be cleared up, I don't want to get anyone in trouble. Interstellarpoliceman (talk) 20:49, 9 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
What about the rest of the articles that are mentioned on the list. Do you know or work with Johannes Grenzfurthner, you have edited this article quite heavily. scope_creep (talk) 08:42, 11 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
No, not personally. But yes, his office is at Q21 and his group invites a lot of resident artists to Vienna, among them Michael and Sophia. To be clear, I'm not doing this work because I want to advert for anyone, just that English WP articles about contemporary art and culture initiatives in Vienna are always in shambles. For example Machfeld, eSeL, and many more. I wanted to get onto that as well. I am, for clarification, updating my user page. Interstellarpoliceman (talk) 11:45, 11 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Coolio. Seems to be OK. You dont seem to have a Conflict of Interest and you have stated clearly that your not being paid. A lot of the promotional material coming out of the articles in list at Coin. References to user generated content like blogs, facebook, other social media sites is not allowed. I've already removed about 5 references to such sites on the Grenzfurthner articles, and Ive also removed stuff that cant be verified. The other article will be done in due course. The reliable sources noticeboard is a good place if you are having problem putting in a reference and dont know if it is promotional. scope_creep (talk) 05:12, 12 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Johannes Grenzfurthner

[edit]

Hi Interstellarpoliceman. I see you have added some stuff onto the article, including stuff about being buried alive, which is supported by a ref for a new film, which doesnt mention being buried alive. I've removed it. scope_creep (talk) 09:51, 25 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Nope, it's a very long interview, not only about the movie but also about his work in general. There is a whole paragraph about exactly this. I know it's German, but look for lebendig begraben. I just find it interesting to give a context for his work. Interstellarpoliceman (talk) 09:55, 25 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Will rephrase the whole thing at some point and add it again. Please have a look at it then. Interstellarpoliceman (talk) 12:59, 25 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I translated the article in Google and bing translate, and I didnt see it. I'll have another look. scope_creep (talk) 10:50, 26 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Link
But I will add another reference that makes the point personal life/art clearer. Will add it sometime today, please have a look. Interstellarpoliceman (talk) 11:13, 26 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I added the references and used the correct cite template. Please have a look. Interstellarpoliceman (talk) 09:24, 27 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Hi Interstellarpoliceman, I see you not putting in full size references. The following may help. To create a full reference, you need to fill in the selected wizard dialog that is available for creating specific reference types. It is available from the editor, when you edit. Look above, you will see a button called Cite. There is Cite Web that conforms to wikipedia:cite web, Cite News for wikipedia:cite news and cite book and cite journal. Select it, and fill the fields in, and it will automatically create the reference. At the moment your creating references which are not suitable for Wikipedia, and somebody is having to go around and recreated. Please create full references, instead of the short urls which are no use to anybody. scope_creep (talk) 10:50, 26 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Oops! I will have a look! Thanks for the corrections, helps me to get better at this! Interstellarpoliceman (talk) 11:10, 26 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

if you wish to help

[edit]

You first need to learn what is and is not acceptable content, please read wp:rs, wp:v and wp:n. I f a page (or content) fails these it will not (generally) survive. It does not matter how much you know to be true (see wp:or) what matters is what RS say.Slatersteven (talk) 16:37, 28 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Will do, thanks. Interstellarpoliceman (talk) 17:40, 28 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Managing a conflict of interest

[edit]

Information icon Hello, Interstellarpoliceman. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. MarioGom (talk) 18:55, 11 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hey @MarioGom, I am not aware that I have any conflicts of interest concerning the articles I am editing on WP. Any specific questions? ☆☆☆ interstellarpoliceman ☆☆☆ 14:59, 12 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Razzennest moved to draftspace

[edit]

An article you recently created, Razzennest, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Notice

The article Masking threshold (disambiguation) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Disambiguation page not required (WP:ONEOTHER). Primary topic article has a hatnote to the only other use.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
